Yesterday was a pretty exciting first for me so I’ll enjoy the moment while I can :)  Bright and early we took a trip to the nearest deli to pick up a few copies of the Sunday Times, to unveil a finished print featuring my styling work not only on the cover but also the inside cover of Home Magazine! The gorgeous Alpine Villa by Dale Alcock proved to be a beautiful backdrop for the finishing touches and I was so pleased with the results of the shoot.

Bedroom furniture, like any furniture, is a really personal choice and will determine the kind of look you want to give your place of rest in the home.

Recently I have seen some really creative and interesting ways to incorporate bed heads into a room, and they aren’t necessarily expensive or your typical idea of what a headboard might be. These inspiring ideas are a good reminder that things can be done in a different and inexpensive way, to achieve stylish and unique results.

Beautiful image making by Kim Ficaro. One of my first prop stylist inspirations. This is why I have collections of random feathers and shells!

With Spring well and truly on the way and colour creeping back into the landscape, I thought what better time to start a new series, which I’ll call Colour Swatches. I’ll be sharing all sorts of yummy things in the same colour palette.

Colour plays a huge part of my life and what I do, and I love it! So let’s begin with my ultimate favourite pair of the moment, yellow and grey. It’s fun and chic, fresh and stylish and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of it. I especially love seeing it mixed with fresh whites and a pop of turquoise.

My picks for you:

My favourite use of these two colours – wedding photography by Stephanie Williams

Kimberley Lewis’ ‘Sierra’ wallpapers in Cadmium – tying grey and yellow together beautifully.

Spotted: One sunny sided door via Nordicrooms.net

‘Citrus Wishing Buds’ Note Card, by the lovely and creative Kate at Birdcage Cards

Pride of plates – a gorgeous wall collection seen at Décor Amor

Venus chair in aptly named colour ‘Goldilocks’, available from Freedom

HeartFish Press cute ‘Smile’ poster series

‘Lemonade Storm’ poster available from Etsy
